I have been constantly amazed at what the System 6000 has done, from the obvious asset of high sound quality and realistic surround reverb, to ergonomic design of both the software and the hardware. There's even a mic stand fitting for the Icon! Most importantly though, I think that the System 6000 is what we've all been waiting for.

One of the key features of the System 6000's reverb design is that several sound sources can be placed at different positions, and while natural reverb tends to dilute the ear's ability to resolve location, the TC system actually seems to enhance it. This is particularly effective when mixing for surround.

I used UnWrap on a wide variety of source material, and was consistently impressed with the results I was able to achieve with a minimum of tweaking.
The resulting surround mix was astonishingly good, with, of course, the benefit of preserving all of Geoff Emerick's original equalization and effects.
Kudos to the Danish design engineers who developed this extraordinary product!

Everything that has put TC Electronic where it is today is present in the System 6000; the quality and persuasiveness of its reverb algorithms have transferred spectacularly into the surround domain, and the thoroughness and power of its acclaimed mastering dynamics have been thoughtfully transposed into the realms of multichannel processing. The Only frustration is knowing that there's so much more to come and not being able to play with it yet.

The System 6000 wears so many hats—a superb reverb in stereo and surround and a complete mastering tool with surround monitoring control—that it is difficult to describe. I rank the System 6000 as one of the best reverbs and the finest audio processing tools on the market today, and, when I weigh the cost of separate components to do what the System 6000 can do, my choice becomes pretty clear. Oh, did I mention how much I like this machine? The System 6000 will not leave my studio until TC Electronic comes to repossess it.

"The version 3 software update is an incremental change for the System 6000. But this last incremental jump has transformed it from a very good system into a devastatingly good one. It's not a cheap option, and for stereo music work, it could be seen as overkill. For serious multichannel music or postproduction work, this surely rates as a 'must-have'."

La S6000 s'avère être une machine aboutie que l'on peut situer en haut de gamme de par son prix et ses performances. Sa modularité et sa puissance en feront un must pour les studios qui envisagent de travailler en 5.1. La S6000 n'a qu'un gros défaut: elle ne nous appartient pas et nous allons devoir la rendre !

The S6000 is a very mature processor. It is definitely high-end, with its performances and possibilities, and with its price. It is so powerfull and modular that it is a real "must have" for all the studios which are planning to work in 5.1. The S6000 has only one problem: it does not belong to us and we will have to give it back !
