- To enter the Front test menu press and hold "BYPASS/UTILITY + PROGRAM".
- Power on the unit.
- Follow the instructions on the screen confirm your choice by pressing "ENTER"
- To enter the more advanced test menu press and hold "BYPASS/UTILITY + PROGRAM/EDIT".
- Power on the unit.
- Follow the instructions on the screen confirm your choice by pressing "ENTER".
Resetting the unit: - Power up the unit while pressing and hold the "TAB" button.
- Scroll to reset system, please make sure to backup all presets!
- Restart the unit.
Check: - Check, if the ground loop works.
- AP-test:
- Test the unit when warm.
- M5000 setup: Preset 46, Mix 100%, I/O = A/A, Gain = 0.0 dB.
- AP-Setup: Press recall/save, scroll to preset 6 "sound check DSP" (AP = THD+N, Gentrack, Generator: 2kHz, -37 dBu).
Remember to change between -37dBu and -47 dBu from the AP'en for hearing if the Reverb tail sounds normal.
Start: - Connect audio cables to the unit, MIDI and the toggle switch.
- "Power On" while pressing the Bypass button, choose Serial, check if the S/N matches the one at the back of the unit.
Noise: - "Power On", Press Utility, G-Levels, pause the CD and turn the volume up.
- Check ground, click and conversion noise. Feedback at +/- +12dB on the A-IN.
- Repeat with A-Out, there is more white noise on this channel (notice, A-Out can go down to -18dB).
- Turn the D-In to OFF noise disappears.
- Repeat 7-9 with music and remember to turn the volume down between.
Midi: - Choose MIDI-menu, second window, set "Prg. Out" to "On", press Edit and check that the midi Led blinks when pressing the DO button.
- Choose "Utility", and set “Prg. Out" to Off.
Meters: - Choose Meters menu, press Bypass, remove on of the Input and check if the PPM falls out.
- Set "Show" to "Output" and se PPM to both sides.
- Set "Show" back to input.
File: - Install the M5000 application software.
- Choose "File" menu, set the” Select" to “Disk Directory" and press "Do".
- View the floppy content, and choose the appropriate software version press “DO”
Pedal: - Choose "Pedal" menu, set "Pedal-Function" to "Bypass Toggle".
- Se and listen if the toggle –switch works correctly.
- Set "Pedal-Function" to "None".
I/O: - Choose "I/O" menu, listen if the unit locks to both 48 and 44.1 kHz.
- Se and listen if both”D-In” and”D-Out” works.
Sound quality: - Press Edit.
- Choose Preset 46 adjust mix to 100%
- Stop the CD and listen for if the Reverb trail is ok without any digital clicks and noises.
- Choose Preset 58, adjust the mix to 100% and listen if the reverse is OK.Choose Preset 64, adjust the mix to 100%, adjust the”DELAY" to 1%, adjust the "FB" to 100% and listen if it Flange in stereo = the Right/Left "follows each other.
- Choose Preset 99, in window 2, adjust "Action" to “Rec", press "Do".
- Play the sample by pressing “DO”, listen for any bad noises.
- Choose Preset 46.
Finish up: - Run the M5000 self test.
- Knock test the unit, listen for any sound changes, click or noise sounds
- Power off and on again.
Finish up: - Enter the self test menu.
- Press all buttons and make sure all are working correctly.
- Feed a signal through the unit and knock test it, listen for any sound changes, click or noise sounds.
- Power off and on a couple of times to ensure it starts up properly every time and check if the latest software is installed.
