Self test menu- To enter the Selftest menu press and hold "BYPASS" button.
- Power on the unit.
- Follow the instructions on the screen confirm your choice by pressing "ENTER".
Resetting the unit: - Power up the unit while pressing and hold the "I/O "button.
- Scroll to "Reset System", please make sure to backup all presets!
- Restart the unit.
Sound check!For this test you need 4 cables to hook the unit up to a CD player and an amp, two S/PDIF cables, a Finalizer (or some other unit) to monitor the digital output of the R4000, an optic cable, a computer with the Icon software editor installed (connected via USB). Connect a Midi cable from the Output to the input, and a cable from the thru to a midi device that will show incomming midi data.
Power up the unit while holding in the Bypass button. Connect the optic cable from the Adat output to the Adat input. Run the Adat Digital I/O test from the selftest menu. Power off, and the on again. Watch for correct software version during startup. Hit the I/O button and turn the input to Digital and the digital input to S/PDIF. Listen to the digital signal, and observe that the Finalizer is receiving a digital signal. Turn the unit back to Analog and hit the recall button. Pause your CD player and listen to the reverb tail, as you slowly turn up the amp. Also listen to the noisefloor. Recall preset 2, and watch for the Icon editor to do the same. Recall preset 1 and watch for the midi light in the midi mintoring device and the midi light in the R4K to blink. Make sure the F1-F3 buttons acutally work. Droptest the unit You're done!
Finish up: - Enter the self test menu.
- Press all buttons and make sure all are working correctly.
- Feed a signal through the unit and knock test it, listen for any sound changes, click or noise sounds.
- Power OFF the unit by pressing and holding the "ON/OFF" button(Notice if the POWER LED blinks when in OFF state, its normal)
- Power off and on a couple of times to ensure it starts up properly every time and check if the latest software is installed.
