Sound check!Audiotest of Finalizer ExpressFor this test you need 4 cables to hook the unit up to a CD player and an amp, two S/PDIF cables, a Finalizer (or some other unit) to monitor the digital output of the Express, an optic cable. Connect a Midi cable from the Output to the input, and a cable from the thru to a midi device that will show incomming midi data. A special "pedal tool" is also needed (one that shortens the tip of a mono jack to the ring by the push of a button)
Power up the unit by holding in the Bypass button. Connect a cable from the optic Input to the Output. Choose test number 5 (with the ?-Button). Wait for a +-sign to appear in the matrix window. Power off and on again. Watch for correct software version in the matrix window on startup. Switch the input to digital, listen to the digital signal and observe the other finalizer connected to the Express' digital out. Check that all the buttons and encoders do what they should. Some of the functions are hard to hear (soft clip etc.) - at least see that the leds turn on and off when the button is activated. Pay special attention to the Spectral Balance section. Set the Ext.
