Self test menu Power on while pressing "KEY + SCALE". - Loop the midi in and midi out.
Choose "Front test" by pressing "EDIT" and run through the test procedure. Power OFF and ON.
Reset DUT(Device under test): - Power on the unit while pressing "PREVIOUS + USER" to enter the system menu.
- Choose "Reset system parameters" press "EDIT" and wait until its done.
- Find the latest software and upload it (Midi speed set to 31250).
- Power off the unit.
Power ON the unit, and watch for correct software during start-up. Hook up a condenser microphone to the mic in and engage the "Mic" and "+48V" buttons on the back. Sing or whatever into the mic, and make sure the VoiceLive produces the correct effects. Disengage the "mic" button on the back, and listen to the line input (using a dry-track of some sort). Again, make sure the VL makes the correct effects. Hit the "EDIT" button and scroll to page "IO 10". Make sure the S/PDIF in is connected to a source (dig out of CD player) and the S/PDIF out is connected to a source (any device that will show digital input). Switch between the Sample Rates and watch the source connected to the S/PDIF out react correspondingly. Switch the input to digital and listen.
Pause the CD player. Set the "INPUT LEVEL" to max output. You can hear a weak click sound when passing the approx.12 o'clock on the INPUT potmeter. Check the potmeter for high noise and crackling sounds the pot meter may be defect. Set the INPUT LEVEL to low output and start the CD player. While feeding a signal through the device raise the one side of the unit approximately 10cm up and let it free fall then the other side, this should not effect the sound if it does its defect.
- Enter the self test menu.
- Enter the front test follow the procedure make sure all is working ok.
- Feed a signal through the unit and knock test it, listen for any sound changes, click or noise sounds.
- Power off and on a couple of times to ensure it starts up properly every time and check if the latest software is installed.
